Goldstein Lewin & Co. Co-ed Softball Team Wins First Game
The Goldstein Lewin & Co. co-ed softball team won their first game by a score of 8-4 against a team called Minimum Wages, lawyers from the public defenders office. Everyone played very well and the victory was a true team effort. Below are some highlights of the game:

Kim Lato scored GLC’s first run of the season in the first inning. She reached base 2 of the 3 times she was up to bat and was our only player to score two runs in the game. She also made some good defensive plays at 2nd base.

Herrick Henriquez and Jeremy Ahwee combined to walk 0 batters during the 6 innings (and of course, only give up 4 runs in total). Jeremy retired 9 of the last 10 batters he faced while pitching scoreless 4th, 5th and 6th innings.

There were several very good defensive plays made in the outfield by Keith Suckno, Ed Friedman and Adam Segal.

Matt Bixler had two hits in 3 at bats (and was robbed of a hit in the other at bat). He had 3 RBIs in the game.

Zaheer Khan had a clutch 2 out, 2 RBI double in the top of the 6th inning to extend our lead from 6-4 to 8-4, providing some crucial insurance for us in the last inning.

Many of GLC’s staff came out to support the softball team. Their next game will be Tuesday night (7/15) at 7:45pm at Mills Pond Park in Ft. Lauderdale as they try to continue their winning streak.
